The journal Pain Medicine is recruiting submissions for a new Teaching Images and Videos section. Submit your interesting images and video and a brief educational report to describe a patient presentation, an image-guided pain procedure, diagnostic imaging, or other topics of interest to pain medicine practitioners.

Teaching Images and Videos in Pain Medicine

Pain Medicine, the official journal of the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FPMANZCA), and the Spine Intervention Society (SIS), is recruiting submissions for a new section based around interesting images with a very short accompanying text. This is an outstanding opportunity for trainees to publish.

Description: A brief educational report based around interesting images (and may also include videos). This may include a case report about a patient presentation, an image-guided pain procedure, diagnostic imaging in pain medicine, or other topics which may be of interest to pain medicine practitioners. Images and videos may be of physical exam findings and/or images from fluoroscopy, x-ray, ultrasound, CT and/or MRI. Other images including electrodiagnostic recordings and nuclear medicine or pathology images will also be considered.

The instructions about what types of files to submit and how to save your images so that they can be edited during the publication stage are as per the Instructions to Authors. The specific instructions for Teaching Images and Videos in Pain Medicine are not yet included on the website, but are as below:

Word Count: 50-200 words
Abstract Required: No
References Allowed: 1-5
Total figures/tables: 1-2 figures, may have multiple panels in each figure
Video: Submissions may also include a video (less than 2 minutes) that will be posted online.
Legends: Each figure may have a legend with a maximum of 100 words

Submissions should be via Manuscript Central. During the submission process, please choose ‘Other’ as the Manuscript Type. Please should state in the cover letter that the submission is for 'Teaching Images.'

Submissions will go through Pain Medicine’s full peer-review process and published articles will be indexed in PubMed and will be assigned a PMID number.
