As noted here on July 10, 2017, members of the Spine Intervention Society’s Standards Division have now submitted a letter to the editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) identifying significant shortcomings with patient selection and technique used in a recent radiofrequency neurotomy study from the Netherlands by Juch et al. The letter also points out that the authors have misrepresented the Spine Intervention Society's Guidelines. The Society hopes to see the letter to the editor published in JAMA shortly, and is also preparing a more comprehensive commentary addressing the study.
